Maple Leaf Quilt by MN-Vixen Maple Leaf Quilt by MN-Vixen
This is a Maple Leaf wall quilt (less than 30" x 30") that I made. It was eventually raffled off, but my Mom bought it.

It's quilted in a stippling pattern using variegated thread (in colors that closely match the fabrics). Cotton fabrics, cotton batting (my fave).

Hmm....somehow this looks vaguely familiar..... :XD: I love your color choices. The leaf in row 1, column 3 has an interesting pattern on the fabric. The stipple quilting also looks really cool.

Thanks! The quilting was actually done with variegated thread. I think the shifting colors makes the (relatively) plain background more interesting.

Thanks. I actually sold my scraps to a woman from my (then) quilt guild when we were on a retreat. I completely regret that now! I have a couple scrap quilts in the works and these colors would have been perfect. Bummer, huh?

It happens. I hoard all mine. Maybe I will eventually use them.

I've decided to stop hoarding and start cutting. I started cutting up scraps from all of the flannel pants and pillowcases I've been making and I now have 640 odd 4-1/2" squares of flannel. Another 250 or so and I'll have enough for a quilt.

That's cool. I save blue jeans and plaid material for my own scrappy quilt.

I like it. I'm glad that it stayed in the family.

Thanks. When I made this I actually made 2. My sister got the other one for Christmas that year. This year she's getting a quilt hanger so she can actually put it up! :lmao:

Did you make the quilt holder yourself or did you purchase it?

Mom purchased it. I have a duplicate of it as well. I *think* we found them at JoAnn's fabrics or Michael's. I know it was a craft-type store where we bought them.

Anytime I want something like that I ask hubby to get out in his shop and make it for me. I may have to wait for quite awhile, but he usually gets it made up for me.

Well, I'm a bit jealous then. My husband doesn't do well with power tools. He's great in the kitchen and great with drawing, but not power tools.

Thanks. I hope you do make one - I think they're just a lovely, old-fashioned quilt square.
