Stacked Wildlife

This was made from a pattern (which I still have and am looking to get rid of ifanyoneisinterested). I spent a good 2-3 months collecting fat quarters that I thought evoked a very organic/natural feel. I think the fabric from the moose is my favorite - the grey/black stones.

This is the 2nd piece I did. On the original ([link]) I didn't like the closeness of the panels on the left and right and how tight the squares & rectangles were, so on this version I opened that all up (a bit).

I did my favorite "lazy applique" meaning that I used fusible web to cut out and apply each figure on the background then used my machine's zig-zag stitch to applique. The backing of this wall quilt is black, as is the binding. There is a sleeve on the back for hanging. And just a couple more details:

- Top is made from100% cotton fabrics, various manufacturer's and designers
- Top was machine appliqued using Sulky variegated thread (this is becoming my very favorite to use)
- Quilting was "stitch-in-the-ditch" using dark nylon thread
- Approximate size is 2' wide by 2' tall
